WHY SHOULD “CBD ISOLATE” BE INTERESTING?
Little by little, CBD has earned its place in cannabis culture and has already become a cult object. It's often referred to as a "miracle cannabinoid that can cure everything from depression to migraines, including itching and inflammation." The medical marijuana market bases its entire narrative on cannabidiol as a non-psychoactive remedy for the ills of modern life. For this reason, CBD can be found in different formats such as topical cream, pills, vape cartridges, edibles, pet products... think of one and you're sure to find a CBD product in this category.
There's a product that's been generating a buzz for some time now. It's known as CBD isolate, and it reminds you of something similar to coarse salt. It's an extract from the hemp plant that's refined and winterized until a CBD purity of 99% or higher is achieved.
Its purity is both its greatest advantage and its curse, as it's very difficult to determine the proper dosage of this compound if you plan to follow any type of CBD-based treatment. If you want to use CBD as a medicinal supplement or remedy, the purity of this product doesn't help, as it's difficult to determine the equivalence between isolated CBD and non-isolated CBD.
The great thing about this super-concentrated CBD powder is that it's flavorless and can be used as a flavoring for edibles and beverages. Because of its powdery consistency, it's quite versatile in the kitchen and easy to handle.
In principle, this powder, despite being a CBD bomb, is completely free of THC, making it legal anywhere CBD is legal. Since it doesn't contain THC, it's also ideal for people who don't want any psychoactive effects, at least those associated with THC consumption.
How to Use CBD Isolate Powder: A Step-by-Step Guide
One of the best uses for CBD isolate powder is to make your own CBD tinctures.
CBD dissolves well in fats, but poorly in water. You can easily make your own CBD oils at home with any strength you like. You can also add terpene concentrates to flavor the tincture.
First, weigh your CBD isolate dosage. Most CBD oils contain doses of 300, 500, 1000, 1500, or 2000 mg of CBD per 30 ml bottle. Double the amount if you're using a larger bottle (60 ml).
Don't fill the bottle to the top because once you insert the dropper, it will cause everything to spill out and you'll have an oily mess everywhere.
Hemp seed oil, MCT oil, or sweet almond oil work great as carrier oils.
Close the tincture bottle and shake it well. Let the bottle sit overnight and shake it a little more. Repeat the process until you no longer see any CBD isolate sediment at the bottom.
You can also add a few drops of a terpene extract or essential oil to give your tincture some flavor. Note: Do not add more than 5 drops to a 30 ml bottle.
2. Use it in the kitchen
You can use powdered CBD isolate for cooking. There are several ways to do this, but the best way is to first dissolve it in a little butter (or other cooking oil) using the same method described above for making tinctures.
You can then use this CBD-infused cooking oil to bake or cook to your liking.
If you use butter, be sure to melt it first in a saucepan or microwave so the CBD isolate can fully dissolve.
A standard stick of butter is about 120 ml. So a good starting point would be to add 2000 mg (2 g) of CBD isolate per stick.

3. Make your own CBD vape oils
Making CBD-infused vape oils follows the same process as making a tincture. You can purchase pre-made vape oil or make your own by mixing vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol.
The usual formula is to use equal parts of GV and PG and add between 300 and 2000 mg of CBD isolate per 30 ml of oil.
To add flavor, you can add some concentrated terpenes (about 4 – 6 drops per 30 ml of vape oil).
4. Vape it directly in a Mesh or Mod vaporizer
Mesh vaporizers are designed to vaporize concentrates; they work with powders, shatters, pastes, and waxes.
Every vape is different, but the general idea is to open the top compartment, exposing the stainless steel mesh, and pour in your desired dose of CBD isolate powder. Close it and press the power button to instantly vaporize the entire dose in a single puff.
Be careful with the amount of CBD powder you use because these vapes will evaporate the entire dose in one click.
Start with about 10 mg of CBD isolate and work your way up.
You can also use other cannabinoid concentrates with this same method. This is a popular method for people who use delta-8 THC distillates.
What is the dosage of CBD isolate?
The CBD dosage will vary for each person. The dosage may change depending on your individual metabolism, your sensitivity to CBD, and the tolerance you've developed. Start with a low dose and increase it once you're familiar with the sensation it produces.
CBD isn't psychoactive, but very high doses can have a similar effect. It's not like THC, but it can be strong enough to impair your ability to drive or work.
A good starting dose of CBD is about 10 mg. Experienced users typically take around 50 mg per dose once they've become familiar with how CBD makes them feel.
