We owe the creation of this cannabis seed to a veteran American grower who passed away in May 2020, Joesy Whales. It all started with this Californian grower. He was cultivating some Diesel lines from Chem Sis. Some of them, possibly due to stress, produced male flowers. Without realizing it, the pollen from these flowers pollinated a female Sour Dubb. The seeds produced almost ended up in the trash because they had ruined his harvest. But it was his partner Lone Watie who decided to save them.
When grower Joesy Whales realized what had happened, he was deeply disappointed, as he wasn't looking to produce seeds, but rather to smoke his carefully tended plants. His decision was clear: discard them all. It was his curious friend Lone Watie who decided to give these accidentally born seeds a chance.
Some time later, they decided to grow them and soon discovered they were of exceptional quality. Four phenotypes stood out, which caused their scissors to stick together when harvesting. They decided to name them Gorilla Glue #1, #2, #3, and #4. Gorilla Glue 4# in particular was the most unique and resinous of all. And also the most potent. He soon became famous.
How did the name come about?
The truth is that its name comes from how sticky its trichomes are, one of those strains that you can barely peel with scissors because they get completely stuck.
This is why they named it after a well-known American brand of glue called Gorilla Glue, which ended in a legal dispute.
The glue company won the lawsuit and Joesy and Lone were forced to change the name, which was renamed Original Glue or GG #4.
