CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are two compounds present in the hemp or cannabis plant, but with very different effects:
– CBD is not psychoactive, meaning it does not produce euphoric effects or alter perception. Therefore, it can be legally used in external or aromatic products in Spain, provided it is obtained from authorized hemp and has a THC content of less than 0.3%.
– THC is psychoactive, and its use is regulated as a narcotic. It is not permitted in over-the-counter products if it exceeds legal levels.
According to reports from organizations such as the WHO and EFSA, CBD does not cause addiction or dependence, and is being investigated for its interaction with the human endocannabinoid system. However, it is not currently approved as a medicine or dietary supplement in Spain.
At OnlyCBD, we work exclusively with products derived from legal industrial hemp, with <0.3% of THC and tested in certified external laboratories.
