420 refers to April 20, the date on which International Marijuana Day is celebrated, by consensus among consumers.
The movement, known as 4/20 or 4:20, refers to the time at which a group of teenagers from San Rafael High School in California, United States, would gather to smoke marijuana in the 1970s. After school, the group of young people, who called themselves “The Waldos,” would meet to smoke marijuana at the statue of Louis Pasteur, which is located on campus, at 4:20 p.m. or 4:20 a.m.
Over the years, the movement grew and became an international celebration of the legalization of marijuana and cannabis use on April 20.
The United States and Canada are the main countries celebrating 420, but the mobilizations have spread to countries on other continents.
In several countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, Australia, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, and the Czech Republic, among others, the use of marijuana for medical or recreational purposes is already legal.
Of course, for OnlyCBDFans, 4/20 is a very special day because it is closely linked to the company, which is why we like to take it almost to the point of madness in terms of prices and so that everyone can have access to the product they love for a crazy price!
URBAN LEGENDS…
1. The legend of the California penal code
Some claim that the number came from California's criminal laws to punish the use or distribution of marijuana. But state code 420 actually refers to obstructing entry into a public space. So this isn't exactly the reason.
2. The legend of the radiotelephone code in the Police
Neither the Los Angeles nor the New York City police have a 420 code. The San Francisco police do, but it's for "minor disturbances."
3. The legend of Bob Dylan's song
This myth is a nod to Bob Dylan’s song Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 and its lyrics: “everyone should get high.”
If you multiply 12 by 35 the result is 420.
It seems a bit forced. Besides, Dylan has never confirmed any connection between the tune and the date.
